Tao Okamoto

Tao Okamoto is currently ranked #47 on Models.com's Top 50 list. Born in Tokyo, Japan in 1987, she turned 24 in May.

Tao signed with Elite Model Management in 2006 where she then made her runway debut at the spring shows of Emanuel Ungaro and Martin Grant in Paris. She then made her debut at New York Fashion Week where she walked for Marc by Marc Jacobs and Cynthia Steffe. After that she appeared in Dolce & Gabbana's spring 2007 look book, Dazed & Confused, French Vogue, Italian Glamour, and became the face of Ralph Lauren.

NY Mag notes Tao for her hair and legs.

So where may you have seen Tao lately? In December 2010 she appeared in an all Asian editorial in Vogue, and appeared in another Vogue editorial in February 2011. Allure magazine also had her in an editorial for their July 2011 edition and she was on the cover of Bergdorf Goodman's Spring 2011 catalog. She has also been in the latest Dolce & Gabbana advertisements.

How you can achieve her style:

In this street style photo of Tao, she takes a normal dress shirt and black pencil skirt and pairs it with fun knee highs and slip on shoes.

My finds:

1. Converse One Star Sport Shirt, Target, $22.99
2. Curve Seam Pencil Skirt, Forever 21, $11.80
3. Tossed Rose Over the Knee Sock, Urban Outfitters, $8
4. Ivory Grosgrain Women's Classics, TOMS, $54
Tao also has a long strapped, quilted black bag. To see where you can get a similar one, check out my post on Ajak Deng!

Total: $96.79
